Members of the Vashon Rock Riders 4-H Club acquitted themselves well at the King County Fair in Enumclaw, coming home with a myriad of blue ribbons.
From July 11 to 17, the Rock Riders competed in equestrian events such as over fences, dressage and hunt seat at the fair in Enumclaw.
Rock Rider veteran Roerhe Cunningham won grand champion in showmanship on the first day, and proceeded to take home a number of blues over the rest of the fair. Intermediates Tyler Silverthorn and Caden Cunningham collected championship ribbons for a number of gaming events and performed solidly in dressage and hunt seat. Jerome Daly, also an intermediate, took third place in hunt seat.
Every club member earned a high blue in dressage, and Club President Emily McArthur earned another in over fences. Junior Madison Silverthorn earned over fences grand champion for her age group.
The Rock Riders will be sending eight members to the Washington State Fair in Puyallup to compete in dressage from Sept. 13 to 15.
