Our Vashon Pirates regular season wrapped up with a winning record of 9-4. This put the team in third place in the Nisqually League behind Life Christian Academy (No. 1) and Klahowya Secondary School (No. 2).
Klahowya High School Meet, Oct. 18: Loss 2-3
Vashon High School’s No. 1 singles player, Nick Zuckerman, had a marathon match against the Klahowya Secondary School No. 1 player, Eli Kraft.
The rallies were hard fought with Kraft ultimately winning in the second set tiebreaker 4-6, 6-7 (4/7).

No. 2 Doubles: Finn Hawkins and Charlie Walker win 6-4, 6-1

Life Christian Academy meet, Oct. 24: Loss 0-5
LCA is the undefeated number-one team in the League and they played like it.
The only close matches played were between our respective number one and two doubles teams. Freda and Baldinger fought back after dropping the first set and then winning the second. Ultimately they fell in the third set tiebreaker (8/10). A match that was decided by only two points.

Nisqually League Tournament held Oct. 26-27
This tournament was held as a qualifier for the District tournament. It’s comprised of round-robin play with the aim to narrow the field from 16 single and 16 doubles down to 8 and 8. The following VHS players will be competing in Districts next Thursday and Friday (Nov. 3-4) at the UPS Tennis Pavillion.
