Seals season ends with invite meet

Sixteen Seals faced some of the fastest swimmers in the region at the Age Group Invitational Meet on Nov. 21 and 22, racking up 15 new club records and personal best times. Four Seals achieved new time standards, while five finished in the top 10 at least once.

David Nguyen was a star performer for the Seals. He earned the chance to race at the Division 1 Fall Invitational Champs Meet this month with a 32.58-second swim in the 50-yard free. He also placed in the top 10 in his other five individual races.

Tazi Flory set six new club records and achieved a Gold Standard Time in the 50-yard free. Other new records were set by Jessica Danzer, Sage Everett and Will Macdonald.

Hannah Cunningham took 13th and 14th in the 50 fly and 50 free, respectively.

Madeline Cowen dropped a cumulative total 16.66 seconds in all her races, with the largest — 6.77 seconds — coming in the 200 free. Cowen, along with Keara Mulvihill, Anna Lueck and Flory, took eighth place in the 200-yard medley relay.

The boys relay team of Jacob Gold, Diego Gray-Wishik, Max Gross-Shader and Nguyen took third place in both the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay.

Gold achieved all Silver Times. Gray-Wishik earned two new Silver Times in the 200 free and 100 back. Gross-Shader earned two new Gold Times in the 100 back and 50 breast.

Connor van Egmond took a ninth-place finish in the 100 breast and improved his Gold Time in the 50 free by 2.17 seconds.
