Registration for Vashon Island Junior Basketball’s youth basketball program is underway.

Children from ages 4 through sixth grade can register online at vijb.org/programs/start-registration/. There are two seasons, with the first having practices beginning on Nov. 28 and games on Saturdays beginning on Dec. 10. This first season is open to all children ages 4 through second grade and girls in third and fourth grade.

A $10 late registration fee is in effect. Prices are as follows:

•Pre-K & kindergarten co-ed (must be at least 4 years old): $70 (includes T-shirt). Saturdays only, 9 to 10 a.m.

•First-and second-grade co-ed: $110 (includes reversible jersey).

•Third-and fourth-grade girls: $110 (includes reversible jersey).

The second VIJB season is open to boys in third through sixth grade, and practices will begin at the end of January. Games will take place on Saturdays through April 1.

A $10 early bird discount is in effect through November. Prices are as follows:

•Third-and fourth-grade boys: $100 ($90 with discount). Price includes reversible jersey.

• Fifth-and sixth-grade boys: $100 ($90 with discount). Price includes reversible jersey.

Fifth- and sixth-grade girls wanting to play basketball will play solely off-island as part of the Seattle Parks League basketball program. Games will start at the beginning of January.

Vashon Island Junior Basketball also offers a family discount for those registering more than one child in its programs. Families receive $50 off second-child registration as long as that child is not in pre-K, kindergarten or participating in the off-island program.
