More than 100 athletes competed in the XTERRA Vashon Off-Road Triathlon on Sunday, July 11, in Dockton.
Last month, 11 doubles tennis teams battled it out in the Vashon Tennis Club’s Winebledon Tennis Tournament. Each team played about 36 games in a round robin tournament. The top eight teams vied for the coveted Winebledon Cup, playing a single elimination tournament one night and concluding the next morning.
It’s summer — the butterflies and birds have migrated north — and the Vashon basketball community has migrated east for what has become a major event in the annual calendar: Spokane Hoopfest. This year was the 21st Hoopfest, and again saw a record number of players (26,000) and teams (6,700).
