I was overwhelmed with emotion when I saw and heard two Seattle marching bands perform during the Strawberry Festival parade for the first time since I moved to the island in 2010. Kudos to the Chamber of Commerce for bringing them here. It brought back sweet memories of when my son performed with his high school marching band in parades for our community in Maryland.

I realize our Vashon High School (VHS) marching band is on summer break, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if they could come out and participate in this annual event? They could join the VHS cheerleaders and football players who did participate in the parade this year.
