DEER SAFETY

The rut is on

The deer rut is on now on Vashon Island, which means much greater risk of car and motorcycle collisions with distracted deer.

The number of roadkill incidents goes up very dramatically during their mating season.

It should be pretty intense for the next two weeks or so. We had bucks fighting loudly and violently on our place yesterday, who then both ran across the highway without stopping to check for traffic.
