Election season is upon us, and Vashon-Maury Community Council (V-MCC) is looking for community input, and help.
This council exists to help the people of Vashon-Maury Island address local island issues and act as a liaison between Vashonites, island organizations and county and state entities.
Council meetings are “town hall” forums in which islanders can hear updates on the ferry system, local crime and policing, development projects on the islands, and more.
V-MCC board members are volunteer community leaders and organizers on the council. Board members participate in at least two monthly meetings — the executive board meeting and the council meeting, which happen on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Board members also often lead and/or participate in committee meetings, as needed.
The Council is now looking for board members to represent all interests, ages and demographics on the island. To find out more, visit v-mcc.org or email Diane Emerson at dianeEmerson@yahoo.com.
