Yvonne Sauer was born to Ben and Christine Morgan in Los Angeles, California, on October 31, 1947. She died on April 4, 2024 with her family near.
Yvonne married Randy Sauer on February 7, 1970, and together they welcomed two children, Jennifer and Christopher Sauer.
After Randy returned from duty in Vietnam, he and Yvonne purchased a home on Vashon Island. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Michael Maki on the island for two years, following which she offered her services as a housekeeper on the north end of the island for several years. For ten years after running that business, Yvonne ran a daycare and the next ten years found her working at Pacific Research, known to islanders as “The Bone Factory.” She retired from that position in 2016.
Yvonne loved making crafts and giving them away to others. She was a gifted baker and enjoyed making pies and cookies. It was natural for her to extend a hand of help to others, yet have no expectations of any gestures in return.
She is survived by her husband Randy, her children Jennifer and Christoper, her sister, Teri Hayes (Daniel) and a grandson, Kohen Sauer. Yvonne is predeceased by sisters, Rochelle and Shirley, and her brother, Bobby.
Yvonne’s family is honoring her request that there be no memorial service. She was known for her big heart and will be sorely missed.
