William J. Anderson (Jerry)

Jerry passed away peacefully at home with family at his side.

Son of the late Henry and Mary Anderson, Jerry grew up in Toppenish WA., and then later moved to Richland WA.

He played basketball for the Richland Bombers who were high school state champions while he played. He loved to fish,

hunt, and was a great athlete. In 1953 he moved to Texas where he served for 2 years in the 501st MP Division. In 1955

he went on to college at WSU where he met the love of his life Maxine (Beall) Anderson. They married Dec. 28, 1956 and

moved to Vashon Island which was home for 50 years. In June of 1957 he hired on with the Boeing Co., and went on to become

the Personnel Director of Engineering. He was employed for 32 years and retired at the age of 58. Jerry served on the

Vashon Island School Board for 4 years where he handed out diplomas to each of his four graduating children. He was an

avid golfer and member of the Vashon Island Golf and Country Club for 40 years. Jerry and Maxine traveled the world and

spent many happy years on the Island of Kauai HI., Tucson AZ., and Palm Desert, CA. He leaves behind his wife Maxine

of 52 years, four children, Pamela and Digby Williams, Scott and Joyce Anderson, Jon & Mona Anderson, and Melissa

and Steve Hall. He was the beloved Tutu Kane of 7 grandchildren; Ryan & Bridgette Taggart, Kristine & Tyler Anderson,

Nolan & Haley Anderson, and Steven Hall Jr. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit on Vashon Island on Saturday June 13th at

12:00 noon. The family asks that those wishing to honor his memory may do so by donating to the Prostate Cancer
