Veronica “Ronee” (Hardman) Huggins was born on October 18, 1948, in Pocatello, Idaho to LaVerne (Billy) and Howard Hardman. She passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, leaving a legacy of kindness, community, and love.
Ronee spent her early years in Twin Falls before moving to Boise, where she graduated from Borah High School. She pursued her passion for education at Boise State College, earning a degree in teaching. Her career took her to Portland, Oregon, where she inspired young minds as a junior high social studies teacher.
Later, she moved to Port Orchard, Washington, where she contributed to Cedar Heights’ after-school programs. Ronee’s dedication to education culminated in her role as a school administrator in Tacoma’s University District.
After retiring, Ronee embraced the serenely beauty life on Vashon Island, Washington. She continued to share her time and talents, serving on the Board of Directors at Unity Church in Seattle.
Her love of travel, particularly her cherished trips to La Montalla, in the rolling hills of Tuscany, complimented her passions for cooking, gardening, and lifelong learning. One of her greatest pleasures was gathering friends to share a home cooked Italian meal. She also found joy in studying A Course in Miracles and building meaningful connections with those around her.
Ronee’s warmth and gift for creating community were felt by all who knew her. She spent her final days at Stafford Suites in Port Orchard, surrounded by the love and friendship she so freely gave throughout her life.
On December 7, 2024, a graveside gathering to celebrate Ronee’s life will take place at Vashon Cemetery at 1 p.m. in the Green Section. An additional Memorial Service will be planned for the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
Ronee will be remembered as a beloved sister, aunt, educator, and friend. She is survived by her sister, Samantha Pancake, her nieces, Heather and Hillary, and Hillary’s children, Mally and Bennet Hoffman. Ronee will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
