Steven Michael McLaren

On July 21, 2008 we said goodbye to Steven M. McLaren as he ended this journey and began another. Steve was born in Burien, WA, on February 22, 1962. He and his family lived on Vashon Island where he enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing sports. Steve graduated from Vashon High School in 1980 where he played on the football, wrestling and baseball teams, he excelled in wrestling and qualified for the state tournament his senior year.

After graduation, Steve spent time in Wyoming and Montana, before returning home to the Pacific Northwest to become a personal trainer. After extensive training, in 1989 Steve won the Mr. Washington bodybuilding championship in the heavyweight division. Steve truly loved being a personal trainer, and he helped many people attain their dreams.

Steve’s amazing quick wit, sense of humor, and fun loving way will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, this includes the greatest joy of his life, his son Kaenen; his parents, Jack and Joanne McLaren; his brother, Mike McLaren; his sisters, Lyn (Dan) Nielsen, and Nancy (Alan) Cote’; his niece Maegan (Josh) Kazas; his nephews, Kieth Nielsen, Joe and Jared Cote’; great-niece Elizabeth Kazas and great-nephew Micah Kazas, along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends throughout the United States.
