Rosemary passed away January 11, 2025, at Providence Mt. St. Vincent in West Seattle, one day after her 90th birthday. She had been in hospice care there for the last month.
Rosie was a lifelong Islander. She was born Jan.10, 1935, the fourth child of Barney and Marion Ofdenkamp. She grew up in Ellisport. Rosie was a princess in the Vashon Festival, Homecoming Queen, and graduated from Vashon High School class of 1952. She took her driver’s test on the island, and worked at the Vashon Theater in high school.
After high school she worked in a dental office on Vashon. She married Arthur Didricksen in 1954, and they raised four sons: Norm, Jim, Duane, and Dennis. They were married for 60 years, until Art passed in 2015. They enjoyed their grandchildren, RV-ing, watching Seahawks and Mariners games, decorating for Christmas, taking trips to Arizona in retirement, and their pets.
She was predeceased by her husband Art, her son Norman, and her great-granddaughter Evelyn.
Rosemary is survived by three sons: James (Sandra), Duane (Julie), and Dennis (Annie). Also by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, as well as many nieces and nephews. Graveside service at Vashon Cemetery on Jan. 25th at 11:00, followed by a small reception at Bethel Church fellowship hall.
