Roderick “Rod” Reutter, 63, passed away February 26, 2009 in his sleep at home in Kenmore WA., from coronary artery disease. He was born on October 17, 1945 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Zelma and Durward “Duke” Reutter. After his mother passed away in 1951 Duke and Rod moved here to Washington and settled on Vashon Island. Rod graduated from Vashon High School in 1964. He then served in the US Army obtaining the rank of Sergeant in active duty overseas and then as a reservist. He worked in the sales industry throughout his life and also owned his own small business. This May would have marked his 30th Alcoholics Anonymous anniversary. He leaves behind his A.A. family, his beloved cat Taz, daughter Shana Reid and two grandchildren Christopher and Cassandra. He is preceded by his mother and father and will be set to rest with his father Duke in a double service at Tahoma National Cemetery Thursday, March 26th at 2pm; 18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA 98042.
