Robert “Bob” Drum, resident of Vashon Island since 1960, died January 7th, 2023 at age 69.

He was born in Seattle Washington to Robert and Marjorie Drum. Bob graduated from Vashon High School in 1971, and after several years of working in other industries, devoted himself to the maritime trades as the owner/operator of the F/V Star of Heaven and the F/V Morning Star.

After the birth of his children he spent his remaining working years at Vashon Island School District. His skills were wide ranging, and he was always happy to put them to work helping others. He was devoted to his family, generous with his friends, always learning, loved to laugh, and will be remembered for his exceptionally upbeat approach to life.

Bob is survived by his beloved children, Lucy Rogers and Jesse Rogers, their mother Betty Rogers and grandmother Cathy Rogers; as well as siblings Ann Weispfenning, Linda Wise, and Bruce Drum. He was preceded in death by his brother Jonathan Drum. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
