Michael Kelly Wheat was born on Aug. 14, 1938 to Kelly and Joyous Wheat. He passed away March 22, 2013. He lived in West Seattle

until they moved to Vashon Island, where he finished high school. He married Dianne Calhoun on Nov. 3, 1961.

They were married 51 1/2 years.They had 3 children, Tammy Jo, John Michael, and Stacy Anne. He had 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Danielle, Taylor and Jaimee. Mike went to work for Vans Px in 1968 which later turned into Stovers a mobile catering company. He was owner/operator from 1981-1992. He was diagnosed with Lung cancer in Nov. 2012. He truly was a fighter! Mike took Jesus into his heart in July 1993 when he was baptized. Mike was a proud member of the Burien Elks and the Steele Lake Highline Grange. Mike fought hard to live for his family and friends, he made peace with God and was ready when the Lord called him home. Mike passed at home with Dianne and his Grandson Taylor by his side, he was in no pain. You could tell he was with God.

A celebration of life will be held at the Burien Elks #2143 May 4, 2013 at 4:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers donations in Mikes name can be sent to the Tall Elks Foundation or Ronald McDonald House.
