Marit L. Hansen of Vashon Island died Dec. 1, 2005. She was 55 years old.

Mrs. Hansen was born May 26, 1950. Marit graduated from Vashon High School in 1968. She worked at the Department of Licensing on Vashon. Her hobbies were horses, gardening and sewing.

Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Gerald Hansen of Vashon, mother Laverne Dornberger of Vashon, children Marcene Pea and husband Paul of Arizona, Shauna Jackson-Holt and husband Richard of Vashon, Kelly Jackson and Jennifer of Lynnwood, sisters Betty Westby of Spanaway and Dian Murrell of Maple Ridge B.C., six grandchildren, seven stepchildren and 12 step grandchildren.

Family and personal friends gathered for a small remembrance at their home Dec. 3.

Cremation was by the Vashon Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
