The quintessential fix-it man, garage door installer extraordinaire, card-shark and patriarch of the Lau clan left us early Wednesday morning 10-20-2010. He can now be reached on the same line as his wife, Arlene, who preceded him in death in 1974.
Lee was born 1/27/1929 in Fayette County, Iowa, the oldest of ten children of Clinton and Dorothy Lau. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and the Korean War. He brought his family to Dockton, WA. in 1956 where he resided until 2008, when he moved to Aspiri Gardens Apartments, Vashon Community Care.
Lee was a career long member of Carpenters Local Union #131, Seattle. He is survived by his three children, Sharon Aukland (Doug) of Dockton, Sandra Lau of Port Townsend, WA, Stanley Lau (Sue) of Marina, CA; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 8 siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, 10/28/2010, at Vashon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vashon Community Care, 15333 Vashon Hwy SW, Vashon, WA 98070, or the charity of your choice.
