Kevin was born in Seattle and lived briefly in Forks before moving to Vashon in 1959 with his parents, Bonnie and Lyle and joined later by his siblings Brad and Dianna.
It wasn’t until his 20s that he would learn of a half-brother from his dad’s prior marriage. Kevin would later meet Paul Roehl in 2006 after Paul’s girlfriend sent a letter inquiring about the family.
Kevin graduated in 1971 and, by the luck of the lottery, he missed being drafted to the Vietnam war—although, to his mother’s dismay, he would join the Navy for a short time.
He met and married Linda Guiberson Cummings. The marriage would last only three years but they would have a son, Kevin Jr.
In 1984 he met and married the love of his life, Susan Crandall. She brought a son to the marriage who Kevin would later adopt, Jarab.
In 1985 their daughter, Helena, was born. They built their home in Gig Harbor.
Kevin received an associate degree in arts and science in 1979 and a BA in law and justice in 1990. His varied career included juvenile detention specialist, a correctional officer for women, and later, Boeing.
Kevin retired early because of memory issues and would later be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
He loved his family and his eight grandchildren brought him much joy. He leaves behind his wife, Susan, and son, Kevin (Timary) Daniel, son, Jarab (Sabrina) Daniel, and daughter, Helena (Chris) Buerer.
His grandchildren include Kylie, Morgan, Kaia, Ransom, Kerstin, Shaylee, Kate, and Olivia.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday 4/30/22 at 3117 Harborview Dr., Gig Harbor, from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm.
