Kenneth John Larsen, 58, died June 7, 2015, in Seattle after complications following a surgery.

Ken was born to John and Jaqueline in Portland, Oregon, but his heart belonged to Vashon. He was an avid musician, outdoor enthusiast, and beloved educator at Chautauqua Elementary School, where he worked long enough to teach the sons and daughters of his former students.

Ken is survived by his sons, Erik and Ryan, his brothers, Steve and Jay, his partner, Susan Rhea, his friends too numerous to list, and an army of the world’s best fifth graders.
