Katharine “Nancy” Marcley died Jan. 23, 2004, after a sudden illness. She was 75 years old.
Mrs. Marcley was a long-time resident of Vashon and over the years touched the lives of many friends she found on Vashon.
Friends and family say she was one of the most non-judgmental people they ever knew. She accepted everyone with love, kindness and respect, unconditionally.
Survivors include her sisters Clair, Margie and Connie and numerous nieces and nephews, her son Richard Marcley, granddaughters Carrie and Rachel and her great granddaughter Isabel.
A memorial gathering will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, in the common room of her apartment, the Evergreen. The Evergreen apartments are behind the Vashon Library. Friends are asked to bring a dish or wine to toast her life.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests a contribution to the Vashon-Maury Island Community Food Bank.
