Harold Denney

Harold Denney, (“Maury Island Harold”) age 79, died at home Saturday, June 13, 2009; born July 11, 1928 to Karna Hettman Denney Cunningham and Harold Denney, Sr. After graduating from West Seattle High School, he served four years in the US Marines (1946-1950; receiving WWII Victory Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Navy Occupation Medal). He worked as an electrician, and welder, at Boeing, Lockheed and Todds Shipyard. He spent most of his life on Vashon. Harold’s passions were antiques, firearms, model airplanes, a good debate and staying in touch with friends via CB Sideband as “Maury Island Harold.” He built his own house and boat, and truly enjoyed company. He was extremely knowledgeable and had great stories to tell about his life. Harold was a man who was always willing to help people in need. He will be missed by his caregivers, family, friends, and his dog, Mooch. Burial will be in Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, Seattle. A memorial service is planned for Thursday July 9th at Dockton Park at 12 Noon.
