George Hart passed away peacefully at age 77 on Wednesday Jan. 6, 2010, at the Veterans Administration hospital with his wife, Sharon and son, Jay by his side. George was born 10/15/32 at Swedish hospital in Seattle and spent most of his childhood on Vashon Island. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1964. After following a sales and real estate career in Alaska and Colorado, he returned back to Vashon Island in 1976 and owned and operated the local tavern before it became Bishops Pub.

George recently celebrated 51 years of marriage prior to his passing. A funeral mass with reception following will be held this Friday January 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at 8517 – 7th Ave SE Everett, WA. 98208. A military burial service at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent, WA. is being planned for the following Friday, Jan. 22nd, at 2:00 p.m.
