Elwood “Ed” Birdsall passed away Oct. 12, 2003, at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland with his wife and daughter by his side. He was 69 years old.

He was born March 9, 1934.

Ed was a long-time resident of Vashon Island having spent 27 years as a building contractor before retiring and relocating to the Lake Wenatchee area.

He was active in island youth sports, sponsoring and coaching girls’ softball and basketball teams.

Survivors include his wife, Sue, daughter, Megan, brother Bill Birdsall and family, and numerous in-laws.
