Eldrid Turmo Roberts, an island resident for more than two years, died Sept. 23, 2002, in Seattle. She was 83 years old.
She was born in Clifford, N.D., on July 29, 1919, to Olaf and Ellen (Thompson) Turmo.
She and Perry Roberts married April 18, 1942, in Norfolk, Va. He was a career Navy man. They were stationed in many different places. During these years, Eldrid was a nurse. Commander Roberts died about three years ago.
Mrs. Roberts is said to have loved all animals. Quilting was another pleasure. The family says she was also a seamstress extraordinaire.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Arthur-Farris and husband Jim of Vashon, and Ann Wilson and husband Dave of Sultan, a son Joe Roberts and wife Deidre of Edmonds, 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A graveside committal service will be held in Tahoma National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4. Eldrid will be in inurned there with her husband. The cemetery address is 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, Wash. 98042.
