Dave Ferguson died May 23, 2006. He was 53 years old.
Mr. Ferguson was born Jan. 10, 1953, in Seattle. He moved to Vashon when he was 14 years old and graduated from Vashon High School in 1972.
From there he served in the Navy for two years before returning to Vashon, where he married, and worked at K2 for 20 years.
He then moved to Port Orchard and enjoyed the last years of his life running his own business as an electrical contractor.
This was his favorite occupation because it allowed him to have office in his home, friends and family say.
Camping and fishing were big on his summer to-do list. He loved to haul the ol’ Winnebago over the Pass to explore the latest campground. For him, there was no greater thrill that to build a big campfire and sit in its glow long into the night.
He also loved fireworks. The Fourth of July was his special day, and he was good at bartering with the people selling fireworks on the Puyallup Indian Reservation. He knew how to put on a great show. He also loved barbequing, fixing things, and wearing home-made tie-dye T-shirts.
Survivors include his daughters Lisa and Kelly Ferguson, their mother, Dorrie, his golden lab, Lucy, and many friends and family.
