Darlene Rae Hill Crouch passed away October 23, 2018 at Vero Beach, Florida. Born February 20, 1949, Darlene lived on Vashon during her childhood. Her husband, Robert “Bob” E. Crouch, of Vero Beach, Florida, survives Darlene. Bob lovingly supported and fought alongside Darlene during her long, difficult battle against cancer. Darlene leaves behind her children: Ezra Thompson, Alicia Thompson and Jeremy Thompson, and her grandson, Chris Jones.
Her adoptive parents James B. Hill and Lorraine L. Walls predeceased Darlene. She grew up on Vashon alongside her Walls cousins: Louise, Roberta, Robert, Penny and Charlene.
Darlene’s biological parents were Gilbert Jay Lee (1928-1995) and Patricia D. Crosier. Raised by her adoptive family as an only child, Darlene later discovered that she had 12 siblings: Lorelei Stevens-Schärig, Gloria Beymer-Check, Teresa, Sylvia, Cynthia, Marc, Eric, Vale and Melissa, and siblings Cris Lee Gregory and Kirk Lee. One sibling, Kary Lee (1961-1980), predeceased Darlene. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews, her Aunt Corrine Lee (Carl Swanson) survives Darlene.
We will all hold dear our memories of sweet Darlene.
