Dan Sauser died June 20, 2010, at home with his wife and family by his side on Vashon Island Washington.
He was born July 25, 1947, in Silverton Oregon, to Maurice and Gertrude Sauser. He was the youngest of 5 children. He was a son, a husband, a father of 3 and a grandfather of 4.
Dan, also known as Garbo, was a construction contractor and specialized in salvaging old buildings. He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends fishing, boating, was a great rock hound and worked on many inventive projects and was full of inventive ideas. He was a good business manager and always carried his projects through to completion. He was a great teacher and took pride in teaching the people he worked with how to envision the end result of their hard work and the steps it took to get to completion. He also enjoyed helping others. He could always find some way to employ somebody in need and did not believe in getting something for nothing. He took great pride to his commitment to a greener planet and never missed an opportunity to recycle anything. He always said he wanted to leave this earth a cleaner place for his grandchildren.
Dan was a free spirit and a kind hearted man and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his son Benjamin Sauser and grandson Justin Burger. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Roberta Plancich, Daughter Rachael Sauser (daughter of Sheryl Oldham), step-son Jeff Plancich, granddaughters Sarah, Courtney and Annie, Sister Elaine and brother Maurice.
A memorial party will be held at the Eagles Hall at 2 pm on the 11th of July. All donations can go to the American Cancer Society.
