Craig Douglas Griffith, 57, of Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Washington State, passed away on November 8, 2024, after a battle with pancreatic cancer that lasted nearly two years.
Born on August 23, 1967, in Metaline Falls, Washington, Craig grew up on Vashon Island. He is survived by his wife, Karen Griffith and their children, son Carter, 15 and daughter, Alana, 7; his mother Karen Young and her partner Bill Rieben; his father, Doug Griffith and his wife, Joan; his sister, Angie Kelly and her husband Jim, along with their children, Justine and Reece; and his step sisters, Erika Ellison and Heather Erickson, and step brother, Marty Burns.
Craig graduated from Vashon High School in 1985. He worked in the Wake Board and Water Ski industry and then went to work for his father’s snowboard company in Burlington, Washington.
Shortly thereafter he met his future wife, Karen. They were married on August 11, 2001. In 2005, a new career opportunity in the plastic packaging industry led them to Visalia, California. They moved to Wilson, North Carolina in 2009 and in 2015 they moved to Pinehurst, North Carolina, where Craig continued his career.
Craig was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. His deep love for his family was the foundation of his life.
Craig had a great passion for golf and loved sharing that passion with his family and friends.
Craig will be remembered for his love, laughter, and joy which he brought to those around him.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Craig on Vashon Island in June.
