September 28, 1947 — August 11, 2024
The world mourns the loss of a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, Cherry Morgan, who passed away on August 11, 2024. Cherry bravely battled ALS, but it never deterred her from finding joy and laughter in every moment. Surrounded by her devoted husband, Dean Morgan, as well as her children and grandchildren, Cherry passed away peacefully.
Cherry was born on September 28, 1947, in Ontario, Oregon, and passed away in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband and soulmate, Dean, and their ten children: Mayme, Michelle, Nicole, Jessica, Dustin, Tim, Abe, Carl, Wade and Tammy. Cherry was preceded in death by her parents, Alta and Forrest.
Cherry was the heart and soul of our home and family; she was the foundation that held us all together and showered us with beautiful experiences and lasting memories. Her love for her children and grandchildren was limitless.
In the Vashon Island community, she was an active participant in various activities such as the Strawberry Festival, Girl Scouts Association, and Granny’s Attic. Known for her kindness and willingness to help others, she was an avid gardener, a passionate reader, and a collector of many treasures. Affectionately referred to as “grandmother to all,” her warmth and compassion touched countless lives beyond her immediate family.
A service to honor and celebrate Cherry’s life will take place on August 31, 2024, at Foothills Community Church in Spokane, Washington. Following the service, a reception will be held at Leslie Lorenzo’s home in Spokane, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Association in memory of Cherry.
While Cherry’s absence is deeply felt, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all those who were blessed to have known her.
