Davis, 85
Charlotte Lorraine Lloyd Davis, died on Friday, March 4. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Davis died of natural causes relating to congestive heart failure at Vashon Community Care Center, where she had lived for the past couple of years.
She was born July 15, 1919, in Great Falls, Mont. and moved to Wenatchee, Wash., when she was 10 years old. At age 15 Mrs. Davis came to Seattle with her guitar in tow to attend Northwest Bible College. She met the love of her life, Frank Robert Davis, and married him in Leavenworth in 1939, where their two sons, Donovan and Frank, were born. Their four-year marriage ended in the untimely accidental death of her husband.
Mrs. Davis’ primary vocation was in the grocery and bakery business, providing fine wedding cakes for many young couples. She resided in Wenatchee, Wash., until 1963, when she became the Women’s Dormitory Supervisor at Northwest College in Kirkland, Wash. After 11 years of service there and a dream trip to Kenya, Africa, to see her son and family, she retired from that work and returned to the cake decorating business.
She is survived by her sons Donovan and Carol Davis of Lindale, Texas; Frank and Pam Davis of Vashon Island, Wash.; grandchildren Derek and Lisa Davis of Mesquite, Texas, Erin and Jeff Ward, Rebekah and Michael Carnathan, Douglas Davis, all of Lindale; Genhi and Darrel Hawes of Springdale, Wash.; Jared and Holly Davis of Mountlake Terrace, Wash. and Aminta and Mathew Braun of Portland, Ore.; her great-grandchildren Jacob, Justin, Katie-Anne, Brooke, Jordan, Jayden, Connor, Brendan, Ethan, Aidan, Caedmon and Simeon. Her brothers Robert Lloyd of Wenatchee and Kenneth Lloyd of Spokane, and numerous nieces and nephews, also survive Mrs. Davis.
She was an active member of Vashon Island Community Church and had a great desire to see the new addition completed. emorial donations may do so to the Building Fund of the church at P.O. Box 2479, Vashon, Wash. 98070.
A memorial service will be held at the Vashon Island Community Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, with burial following in Wenatchee on March 11.
