Briana Marie Aspiri Chwaszczewski died Sept. 9, 2005, at Harborview Medical Center from injuries suffered in a horse training accident Sept. 5.
Briana turned 23 years old Sept. 7. She was training her dream horse, Divine, when the accident occurred. Her family said her last hours were spent on her horse, training, riding and full of happiness.
Briana grew up on Vashon Island and was active in Pony Club all her life. She created, owned and operated Olympic Breeze Stables where she taught riding lessons, trained horses and held summer camps for children.
Briana and Max Chwaszczewski were married Sept. 20, 2003, and made their home in
Port Orchard.
Survivors include her husband Max, her parents Pamn and Paul Aspiri, brother Ryan, in-laws Beth and Rich Chwaszczewski, brothers-in-law Mike and Kenny Chwaszczewski, great grandmother Marie Aspiri, and grandparents Patricia and Bruce Salyer and Edith and Ray Aspiri.
Other survivors include aunts Kim Salyer, Tressa Azpiri, Mitzi Aspiri, Karen Heit, Debbie Azpiri and Maureen Casey; uncles Miles Salyer, Gary Aspiri, Mark Aspiri, John Azpiri and Randy Heit; and cousins Siena Salyer, Jasmine, Jarem, Kramer, Madison and Carmen Aspiri, and Spencer, Tylor, Austyn and Wyatt Heit.
The family says Briana approached life with joy and love, and brought strength and happiness to every life she touched.
A service will be at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 14, in the Vashon High School gym.
