Betty Jo Rosene, 86

Vashon resident Betty Jo Rosene, 86, died on Jan. 11, 2008. She was born Nov. 8, 1921, in St. John, Wash., to James and Veona Melbostad.

She is survived by her husband John of Vashon, daughter Mary Lynn Townsend (Don) of Elgin, Ore., grandchildren Jim Townsend of Pullman and Brad Townsend of Elgin, Ore., and nephews Rich, Bill and John Melbostad of San Rafael, Calif.

She was preceded in death by sons Richard and James and brother Dick. A private service was held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Tacoma or the Special Olympics. Arrangements were made by Weeks’ Dryer Mortuary in Tacoma.
