Andy slipped away quietly on Wednesday morning, losing a hard fought battle with cancer which had overtaken his body, but never his spirit. He was at home with his wife and daughters after having spent the evening surrounded by friends and loved ones.
Andy will forever be remembered for his wit, his humility and his willingness to help out in any way he could. A comedian who could find a bright spot in the most dire circumstances, it was Andy who made us laugh through our tears when we needed it the most. To spend time with Andy was to truly live and be in the moment; to savor each experience and gain a new perspective. He has touched so many lives around the world, altering the path of everyone he meets by leaving behind a little bit of himself.
Andy leaves behind his wife, three daughters, a brother and a sister, and countless friends, family and loved ones, not to mention the dog, the cats and the chickens. We will miss you always, but you will forever be with us, for you are part of each of us.
A memorial celebration will be held Sunday, 27 September, at the family’s home on Vashon Island, from 3:00 PM until sundown. Circle sharing at 5:00 PM. All are welcome. Please honor Andy by wearing something green, as a sign of the importance and inspiration he had to all of us. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for Andy’s daughters to the Andy Royer’s Family Fund at US Bank in Vashon. Inquiries candisebertram@yahoo.com.
