The Vashon Events Music Instrument Library has moved in with the existing tool library at the 02 Building next to the Open Space for Arts & Community, according to Vashon Events.

The instrument library’s hours are now: 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 11 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Pickup and drop-off is next to the Open Space at 18870 103rd Ave SW, Vashon, WA 98070. Visitors are encouraged to pull up to the loading dock door on the SE side of the O2 building, where coordinator Ruben Arnot will help.

The instrument library opened in 2015, offering a chance to experiment for budding musicians or those just looking for a new set of strings or brass to play with.

The library includes guitars, drums, pianos, autoharps, trumpets and much more, and instruments can be borrowed for up to three months, according to the instrument library.

The library serves a large amount of young people; 84% of users are age 0 to 25, according to data from the instrument library.

It’s operated by Vashon Events, and Vashon Island residents can sign up at vashonevents.org/music-instrument-library-new. Instruments must be kept on-island.
