In a hearing held on Jan. 25, the King County Superior Court set the trial date for a case involving a 43-year-old Vashon man who has been charged with sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman at a Vashon Island home where both he and the woman were present.

According to court documents, the trial in the case has been set for Tuesday, April 26. Luciano Alvarado-Fuentes, the defendant in the case, has been charged with third-degree rape, a felony in the state of Washington.

The Beachcomber has reached out to Alvarado-Fuentes’ lawyer, Brett Purtzer, for comment but has yet to hear back.
