A woman driving a blue minivan crashed into a tree near the intersection of Bank Road and Vashon Highway Friday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. and the driver of the vehicle was arrested. King County Sheriff’s Department deputies at the scene said the driver got upset with a pedestrian who, at the time of the crash, was walking north on the sidewalk along Vashon Highway. In an apparent attempt to hit the pedestrian, the driver allegedly made a U-turn in the middle of the highway and headed toward the pedestrian when she hit the tree. The pedestrian fled and was not harmed.
Traffic was slow in the area until the scene was cleared around 4 p.m.
