Dockton Park’s playground is about to get a makeover from King County Parks.
The existing play area will be closed in mid-August.
At that time, the county will remove the existing structures to make way for a new, larger play area with an emphasis on climbing structures and slides geared for ages 2-8. The new playground, like the old one, will have swings that face the water.
The new playground will boast improved ADA access and drainage throughout its footprint, as well as include a bench and table, according to the county.
A blog posting details more about the project, which has been funded by the 2020-2025 King County Parks Levy.
The new playground — complete with shiny new spinners, slides, and climbing structures — is expected to open in October.
