Nominate a grand marshal

The final day to submit a nomination for the 2008 Strawberry Festival Grand Marshal is Friday, May 30. E-mail nominations to grand marshal sponsor Joyce Olson at JOlson@WLH-CPA.com.

The Chamber of Commerce is looking for individuals who have given their time and talents to the Island to make it a better place for all. The selection will be announced the first week in June.

A bear visits

A black bear was spotted on Maury Tuesday morning, almost a year to the date the last one visited. Islanders are reminded that bears are not aggressive, but they should keep their garbage inside.
