The King County Ferry District is surveying passengers on the Downtown Seattle-Vashon route of the pedestrian-only boat this week, part of an effort to enhance service on the popular run.
Hank Myers, the ferry district’s executive director, said he hopes the surveys will enable the district to “figure out how to make the service better” — information the fledgling district plans to use to try to enhance ridership.
“To me the best thing we can do is get more people on board and make sure they’re happy,” he said.
The ferry district has four different surveys — all short and easy to answer — that it will be issuing for the next few days. The district wants riders to answer a survey each time they ride the boat this week, Myers said, “so that we can weight the opinions based on actual ridership.”
Myers said it will take riders no more than 10 minutes to complete the surveys.
“We really want a high rate of return,” he said.
