In sad news on Vashon, the body of Kirsten Proffit, the island woman reported missing last Monday, has been found and her family notified, according to Lane Youmans, the coroner of Grays Harbor County.

Youmans said a park ranger found her body last evening, Thursday, Aug. 28, at Twin Harbors State Park. She died from carbon monoxide poisoning, Youmans said, but he has not determined when she died. He declined to say whether or not she left a note.

Further details, if any, will be forthcoming after a conversation with her family.
