A children’s author reads
Local author Bob Ward will sign copies and read from his book, “Le Reve (The Dream),” from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at The Hardware Store Restaurant. The event will include refreshments and a chance to get an up-close look at Ward’s fanciful illustrations for the book. “Le Reve” is a children’s adventure fantasy about a young girl’s journey of hope and discovery. According to Ward, it’s a “tale of a young girl dreaming of far-off places and all the possibilities they hold,” and the lead character of the book is based on his daughter, who is now head chef at The Hardware Store Restaurant. Cash donations for the Vashon Kiwanis Club toy drive will be accepted in exchange for copies of the book.
