Michael O’Neill, a co-founder of Portland’s Nomadic Theatre Company, will bring a one-person show to the Island this weekend.

O’Neill’s show — the story of a janitor who morphs into a full-on vaudeville performer — comes complete with plenty of physical comedy and chances for audience participation.

A celebrated performer, O’Neill has created, directed and performed original works throughout Europe, North America and Asia, and recently returned from a six-week stint in Haiti with Clowns Without Borders. He’s been seen on “Good Morning America,” the “Today Show” and MTV. He worked with Tears of Joy Puppet Theatre for several years before co-founding Nomadic Theatre.

The theater company is acclaimed for its presentation of shows full of clowning, masks, puppetry, dance, stilt-walking and acrobatics.

Michael O’Neill will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at the Blue Heron. The show is part of Vashon Allied Arts’ Family Series.
