The Blue Heron Art Gallery will be the scene of a unique art sale this weekend, made possible by the generosity, sharp eyes and talents of Island art collectors and artists.
Island music aficionados are in for a double treat at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 7, when Vashon Allied Arts New Works Series continues with two acts in one evening — all-original world music by Resonance, a new Island-based band, and a performance by popular Island duo Pat Reardon and Kim Cronin.

The Blue Heron Gallery will host an art sale next week. Reminiscent of last year’s Archives Art Sale, which featured works by Island artists, this year’s sale offers works donated by passionate Island art collectors.

Tchaikovsky’s “The Sleeping Beauty” will be performed by Blue Heron Dance Company on the Vashon High School stage at 7 p.m. Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18. Regarded as the composer’s finest ballet score, Blue Heron Dance Company first performed the three-act ballet in 1998.
