Nashville-based chanteuse Tori Sparks will take the stage for a free concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi.

Called “a knockout” by the Village Voice, Sparks puts on a live show that has been described as equal parts soulful singing and zany stand-up style humor.

Tori’s stop at the Bike is part of her first-ever West Coast tour.

Yogoman Burning Band, a Bellingham band, will perform on the Island for the first time at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Bike.

The band’s influences include Jamaican rap, New Orleans Brass, Caribbean and African rhythms and early punk. The band’s instrumentation includes saxophone, cornet and trombone.

The six-piece band has shared the stage with Pato Banton, Clinton Fearon, Dengue Fever, the Cave Singers and the Dusty 45’s.

The cover charge for the concert is $5, and the show is for ages 21 and up.
