This weekend will bring five nights of music to Café Luna and Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi.

The Bike’s lineup will kick off at 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 29, with a free show by the popular Island dance band Loose Change.

This is an all-ages show until 11 p.m., when it becomes a 21 and older only event.

Olympic Sound Collective, a Seattle band, will take the stage for a free show for ages 21 and older at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30.

The band plays an original fusion of soul, jazz and funk, with instrumentation including B3 organ, drums, guitar and a dual horn section.

The Bike will close out the weekend with its monthly installment of The Church of Great Rain at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 31. (see story above).

Café Luna will present a free concert of The Sweet Lowdown, a Canadian acoustic duo, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 29.

The duo is comprised of Amanda Blied on guitar and vocals and Shanti Bremer on banjo and vocals.

Founded in Victoria, British Columbia, The Sweet Lowdown is a combination of old-time groove, shady melodies and sweet harmonies.

The duo combines original songwriting with traditional bluegrass, old-time and blues songs.

Texas musician Russell Clepper will take Luna’s stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30.

San Antonio music critic Jim Beal describes Russell Clepper’s work as “authentic hand-made music.” Clepper hails from Lubbock, Texas, and now lives on Whidbey Island.
