Café Luna hosts melodic guitar

Johnathan Nicholson will perform melodic acoustic guitar music from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Café Luna.

Blue Monster plays the Red Bike

Blue Monster, a five-piece local instrumental funk band, will play a free show at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Red Bicycle Bistro.

According to Pete Welch, who books music for the Bike, Blue Monster’s shows combine heavy grooves and psychedelic improvisation that gets listeners up on their feet and dancing. A Hammond B-3 organ is part of the mix, as are funky guitars.

The show is for all ages until 11 p.m., and ages 21 and older after that.
