Eric Apoe and Danny Godinez will share the bill at a free show at 7 p.m. Friday, July 2, at Red Bicycle Bistro. Concert organizer Pete Welch described Godinez as a “guitar wizard with an unforgettable one-man show.” Apoe is a Seattle singer and songwriter who got his start in the music business by drumming for legendary Cajun fiddler Doug Kershaw.

Publish The Quest, whose frontman is Islander Jacob Bain, will return to Vashon for a night of music and dancing at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3, at Red Bcycle Bistro. The band plays a blend of blues, rock, ska and world pop. There is a cover charge of $8 for the show, which is for all ages until 11 p.m., and 21 and older after that.

Hejira will play a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3, at Café Luna. The duo, made up of American Don Baragiano on guitar and Egyptian Ashraf Hakim on cello, creates a fusion of Middle Eastern scales and rhythms.

The Riptide Ramblers will kick off a series of six free world music concerts sponsored by Vashon Folkdancers and Vashon Park District at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 5, at the Village Green. The family-friendly concerts will provide a chance for Islanders to listen to music and take part in lively folk dances. Riptide Ramblers is an Island family band that got its start 10 years ago. Over time, the band has evolved as more family members have joined. Their repertoire includes traditional Cajun music, zydeco, country, rockabilly and folk music. The next two concerts in the series, both taking place at the Village Green, will feature Mary Sherhart & Balkan Cabaret at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 12, and the Greek ensemble Pangéo at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 19.
