Jim Hobsen will play jazz piano from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Sound Food.

Manooghi Hi will bring a world beat to a concert at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi. Indian pop diva Mehnaz Hoosein is the lead singer for the band, which has played at Bumbershoot, the Oregon Country Fair, South by Southwest and other prestigious festivals. Manooghi Hi’s music samples eight languages, with its songs deeply rooted in Indian culture. The show’s opening act is Amy Jo Savannah. There is a cover charge of $6, and the show is for all ages until 11 p.m.

Mark Wells and an Island band, The Diggers, will play at Café Luna at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19. Wells, a singer and songwriter, performs with several Island bands, most notably 5:01 and Geordie’s Byre.

Dave Hannon and Ian Webb will bring acoustic pop and rock sounds to Café Luna at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20. Hannon’s tenor voice takes the lead in the duo, and Webb sings backing vocals and plays djembe and bass.

Posse Impossible, a new band, will have its first show at Buddha Bar & Lounge, located inside Spice Route Cuisine of India, at 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20. Gabe Blake, of Troll’s Cottage, is in the band along with Brian Forsythe and Ian Bradley.

“Comedy is Good for the Soul,” a stand-up comedy show, will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Sound Food. The cost of the show is $8 per person, or $5 for audience members who are having dinner at the restaurant.

Celtic players and knitters will gather for a combination of jigs, reels, polkas and homespun crafting at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, at Café Luna.
