Blooms & Things will continue to show “Your Barn Here,” an exhibit of photographs by Ray Pfortner. The show is meant to pique interest in an ongoing project by Pfortner to photograph barns in King County.

Café Luna will host an exhibit of 100 portraits of musicians by Erik Hoogen, who is known on Vashon for his snowboard designs and murals at Thriftway and Sporties.

Heron’s Nest will host Greg Wessel, who wrote “Codex Benthos, A Catalog of Lost Mines, Buried Treasures, Unsolved Mysteries and Unexplained Oddities on Vashon and Maury Islands” under the pen name of Dr. Cecil Benthos. The shop will also exhibit photographs by Kim Farrell, wooden sculpture by Mike Devoe and handmade Christmas stockings by Lynanne Raven.

Silverwood Gallery will open its 16th annual “Shake the Tree” exhibit featuring gallery favorites Ted Kutscher, Margaret Tylczak, Eric Heffelfinger, Ivonne Escobar de Kommer and Joanne Bohannon.

Treasure Island will exhibit pottery, jewelry, toys and more from an estate sale.

VALISE will offer “Gift,” a group show by members of its artists’ collective. The show explores different meanings and expectations of the word “gift.”

Vashon Bookshop will offer music by Will Van Spronsen and rustic Appalachian rib baskets by Barbara Gustafson.

Vashon Senior Center will exhibit oil paintings by Midge Grace and her students.

Wings Birdseed Company (next door to the bike shop) will exhibit the work of Sue Carette. The photos in the show are of scenic and iconic spots on Vashon-Maury Islands.
